Setting NR=1 in bq3060

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ3060, BQEVSW, BQ20Z90

Hello,

How do I set NR=1 in 'Operation Cfg B' Register of bq3060?

How do I set CAPM=1 in 'Battery Mode'?

Couldn't find the info in the TechRef.

Looks as hard to find as how to set a 4s1p config in 'Operation Cfg A'...

Any help welcome.

Thanks.

Matthieu.

  • You should be able to change this setting in the Data Flash screens using the bqEVSW tool. Are you saying that the tool will not allow you to change the value?

The CAPM bit can be changed in the INIT BATTERY MODE parameter on the SBS Configuration screen.

  • Hello Mr Cosby,

    Thank you for your answer.

How to set NR=1 was indeed a silly question, as I can change from DataFlash page the hex values of the config. Registers.

But that the hex value of "Battery Mode" can be entered from SBS screen was not trivial: on the same page, none of the other Registers ("Battery Status", "Safety Alert", etc) can be written to...

Do I have to read 'Configuring the bq20z90 Data Flash' to understand the meaning of all the bits and flags in tne registers?

    Thanks for your help.

    Regards.

  • Some of the registers are just status register and you do not write to them. You should be able to find the definition for the bits in thebq3060 TRM.
