Short circuit protection on a IC

Hello,

I would like to prevent a Short Circuit case as the shown on the follow image using an IC. Ones of my priorities are:

Maintain low power comsumption. About uA currents.
When the SC is detected, no damage can´t ocurred, the idea is that once the SC dissapear the circuit continues working fine.

According to the image, GP1VCCOUT is the same VCC voltage which is commuted.

I hope you can help me with this.

Is the "VCC" voltage at 5V? If so, then a USB power switch could be used. There are many with fixed current limits and many with adjustable depending on the current requirement. What is the current requirement?

Hello Eric,

Thanks for your reply. The VCC is a voltage between 5V and 30V. The current could be until 3A. The 5V power point is because of an open drain Interrupt output from a RTC.
