LM5575 Vds/Ids Rating of the Internal MOSFET

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5575

Hello team,

Could you please provide the Vds/Ids rating of the internal MosFET of LM5575?

The datasheet suggests the integrated N-FET is 330mohms and 75V, the 330mohms is the Rds on, what is the 75V referred to?

Best regards,

Max

  • Hi Max,

We do not have Vds/Id rating available for the part. However I can tell you 75V is the maximum operating voltage the switch can handle that is guaranteed over temperature.

The Abs Max is the absolute maximum and must never be exceeded.

    Thanks,

    Anston

  • Hi Anston,

Thanks for the prompt response, do you know what kind of NFET is integrated in the IC? What's the maximum current the FET can source to the switching pin?

    Best regards,

    Max

  • Hi Max,

I'm sorry to say but we don't have additional data to share on the NFET technology nor is it easy to come by for parts that have been released for a while, I'm leaning towards vertically enhanced NFET. I can however tell you that 1.5A is the maximum continuous current that the FET can handle and it does have protection mechanisms for current limit, thermal protection and remote shutdown. These will prevent the IC from blowing-up.

    Thanks,

    Anston
