BQ500414Q - switching frequency(Fsw)

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ500414Q

Hi all,

Would you mind if we ask switching frequency(Fsw) of BQ500414Q?

<Question1>
The datasheet shows that the frequnecy range is from 120kHz to 205KHz.
We quess that we can set this value using external capacitor or I2C command.
However we could not find this method.
Could you teach details of setting method?

<Question2>
On your promotion document for Wireless Power Solutions, the document explains
main features of BQ500414Q.
We find the word "Frequnecy adjust".What is this function?

<Question3>
In reference to <Question2>, if we use BQ500414Q, we'd like to choose switching frequency
without overlapping to Radio's frequency.
So, "Frequnecy adjust" is used for this content?
We'd like to avoid overlapping to Radio's frequency automatically.

We need your help.

Kind regards,

Hirotaka Matsumoto

  • <Answer to Question>

    The Tx uses variable frequency control, and the operating frequency range is 120kHz to 205kHz. The Rx will send control error packet to request more or less power. Then Tx responds to the request by adjusting the frequency to deliver different amount of power. This frequency is not set externally.

    <Answer to Question2>

    The operating frequency can be temporarily shifted to a different frequency level, through I2C command.

    <Answer to Question3>

    The frequency cannot be shifted for too long, and definitely not outside the 120kHz to 205kHz.

  • Hello Pearl san,

    Thank you for your reply!

    We got the summary of "Frequency Adjust" function.
    However, we can not understand what this function is used for.
    That's why, if it is possible, could you show us example for using of "Frequency Adjust" function?

    Kind regards,

    Hirotaka Matsumoto
