RE: TPS40210 cannot boost up to 100V output

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS40210

Anthony sir,

I want to make a 50 V to 100V dc converter with 1 A output current. Can it be made with TPS40210.I got a schematic from webbench design Of Texas Instrument. But MOsfet and diode used are different. Can you suggest whether 100V with 1A output is possible or not.If possible can you please send a schematic of the same.

regards

  • Hi Gitesh,

The TPS40210 can support this application. The following is the closest I could find for your application. Although it is slightly lower output voltage with half the load current, it has a higher conversion ratio making the input current level comparable. The input current in this reference design will be at least 80 V * 0.5 A / 18 V = 2.2 A while yours is approximately 2 A.
