Load a Goldcap with an Linear Regulator

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS7A37, TPS709

Hallo,

I am looking for a Linear Regulator to load a goldcap 9F/3V.

The Vin can be 5V or 3,3V. Vout are 3,0V. Vout loads the Goldcap 9F/3V

Optional there ist a Resistor (R6) to reduce the laod current.

If no resistor is mounted (0R), the Goldcap loads with the short current of the Linear Regulator.

In the beginning I think the linear Regulator goes hot, because of the high current. But

then the load-current decreases more an more.

Now the Goldcap are full loaded. When I switch off Vin, Vin goes to 0V.

Vout still have 3V because of the Goldcap. The Vout 3V don't have to destroy the

Linear Regulator and the Reverse current should very low (<1µA).

Which Linear Regulator can I use???

Thank you for your help!

  • Hi Richard,

There are a couple of LDOs that may fit your needs such as TPS7A37 and TPS709.  I would recommend using our parametric search to help find the best solution for your needs.  You can narrow the search by current and to devices with reverse current protection.

    Very Respectfully,

    Ryan
