I have noticed that in the app note “Powering the AM335x with the TPS65217x” for version TPS65217 (A, B) have the VIO pin powered by VLDO1, which turns with VSYS. However the for the TPS65217C it is connected to VDCDC1, which does not turn on with VSYS. Is this an error?

Yes, this is an error. VIO should be tied to LDO1.

Thanks for the quick answer.

This leads to my next question; does this mean that the VIO pin power cannot be powered by VLDO2?

Since this power rail does not come up first, will this be a problem.

I ask this because, in our circuit, VDDSHV6 on the AM3358 is powered by VLDO2, and I believe that the power for PGOOD and LD0_PGOOD is also VDDSHV6 on the AM3358.

VLDO2 can be used for VIO as well. VIO only supplies the drive voltage for the LDO_PGOOD and PGOOD pins. If VIO is not present you will not see the PGOOD pins assert high.
