General question about Fuel Gauge

Hello,

I have a general question about Fuel Gauge ICs. I looking for solution for Li-Ion battery capacitance measurement, to use for wireless transceiver application. I just interested about Fuel Gauge ICs, even evaluated some devices. So my question is how Fuel Gauge IC can count buttery charge if it sample rate is 1 time per second? For example, in wireless application, the radio can be active for hundred millisecond and go to sleep.

In my opinion, the battery can be only be charged with the use of some over powered source. Well, if the fuel gauge is not working properly then you should check its wiring. Still the problem of battery overused persist then get help from fuel management services.

Thx for answer, but it's not a problem of fuel gauge using. We have EVB of TI fuel gauge, its working well. Its general question, how fuel gauge with sample rate of 1 time per sec. can measure SOC of battery, that supply power to wireless application, activated for short time, below 1 sec., e. g. during 100-200 mS?

On a side note, what fuel gauge EVM are you using?
