Use the TPS28225 MOS Driver to drive only one transistor

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS28225

Hello,

I have a question about the TPS28225 MOSFET Driver, is it possible to use it as a driver for only one transistor? By connecting the upper gate pin to the transistor, and the lower gate pin to the ground or something like that?

More, how could I connect the PHASE pin to the transistor? What bootstrap capacitor value should I use?

I made some SPICE simulations, but I have difficulties to reproduce the good simulated results by measurement.

For information, I would like to use it in a ~6MHz system.

Thank you very much for your help,

Guillaume.

  • Hi,

Seems you are looking for a low side gate driver. If not, please attach the schematic you want to use.

If yes, i would like to suggest you to find the low side gate driver on ti website. we have a lot of these drivers.

For the frequency, You should take power dissipation and propagation into consideration. 6M is really a very high frequency for most gate drivers.
