Pages 16-17 of the TPS2491 datasheet describe using a gate capacitor to control the output ramp voltage. What is the purpose of the 1k resistor in series with the gate capacitor? What is the downside if you don't add this resistor? The MOSFET being used is Fairchild FDS6699S which lists typical input capacitance as 3610pF at room temperature. No min or max is specified. What is the potential issue if I don't use a zener?
