Hi All,
I just used MC33063A in my power system which one is a step-down regulator. And I would like to use an external MOSFET to enhance the current value. The NPN switch is simple on control but there is a potential risk on Vgs due to the maximal 40V input voltage (normally the Vgs < 20V). For PNP switch the control is complex than NPN switch. Lower division resistance is good for switch speed but with higher power consumption. Higher division resistance is beneficial on power consumption but bad on switch speed. How can i deal with it? Please give you adviance on this. Below is the conditions of regulator.
1. Input voltage: 40V
2. Output is 5V @ 1A
3. The minimal heating generation
Thanks in advanced!
