Dear Support,
I have designed a battery charger using the BQ24032R chip set, and I have pasted the circuit I plan to use for look over sanity.
Here are some cases I am considering:
1. Select AC power as first choice - PSEL high via D7 and D9 and R80 pull-up. Optionally I can make via MCU PSEL = 0 if System power is pass through from the battery.
2. If AC power is removed, then VBUS should be selected according to documentation, however I still have VBUS through D7 and D9 creating 3.3V. This will keep PSEL = 1, but I will not have AC power at the AC input. Will the charger know there is no power at the AC input, and automatically switch to USB input while PSEL=1? Please advise...
3. CE is pull high as long as AC or USB power is available. What happens if AC and USB is absent, CE = 0, but a Battery is connected? According to the documentation datasheet the Sleep/Standby modes page 24 , middle of the page it say the bqTINY III-series enters low power while AC and USB is present (not my case), the CE input is low. It says Battery will be connected to the OUT pins, and battery can continue supplying power to the system.
It does not address my case when there is no USB, NO AC power, CE =0. Will VBAT be connected via Q2 to OUT PINS (in figure 4)? Please advise
A clarification will be greatly appreciate it in points 2, and 3. I want to say Q2 in the bqTINY III series will remain ON, but I don't want to guess! Please confirm for me.
Best regards,
Robert
