Hi All,

Please let me confirm about absolute maximum rating of ADJ pin. The reason for asking it is that our customer need to consider the possibility of shorting ADJ pin to the other rail like VIN or VBIAS which has high potential. Is the max rating of ADJ pin +6.0V like the other pins?

Yes, -0.3V to 6.0V AbsMax for LP38851/52/53 ADJ pin

Hi Donald,

Is the internal circuit of LP38851-ADJ's ADJ pin similar with LP38841-ADJ's one? The reason of asking it is that LP38841-ADJ has AbsMax for ADJ pin and it's actually -0.3V to +6.0V.

I can not find any internal design details for the feedback circuitry on either device.

Different designers, but same fabrication process.

For my curiosity : What condition exists such that the customer needs to consider the shorting of the ADJ pin to Vin or Vbias?

The background I asked this is that I'd like to have a certain basis to say the AbsMax of LP38851's ADJ pin.

For your curiosity, our customer is considering the abnormal situation that the ADJ pin is short to Vin or Vbias on PCB as you commented.
