Help: power up problem

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM1810

Hi professionals!

Our team met a problem of AM1810 developing board powering up. Before depicting the problem, please see the link below that we asked before.

http://e2e.ti.com/support/power_management/pmu/f/200/p/341317/1196931.aspx#1196931

To solve the problem in the link, we replaced the original transistor(Fig-3) with a MOSFET(Fig-2).

Now we met a new problem recently. The system sometimes can get powered up normally, but sometimes cannot. It seems randomly. If the system gets powered up normally, the current we monitored during powering up is 60-80mA. When abnormally, the current is 50 mA and keeps this value. But if we push the reset button, the powering up process will get normal again.

Please help with analysis. Thank you!

Best regards!

Guotao

  • Hi,

Are you referring to starting with the push button or the EMA signal driving the FET?

Can you provide waveforms of the abnormal start up and RESET?

  •  Hi ! I am very sorry you waited long time to get my reply. We were testing our board all the time.

It is the powering up process where the problem happened.

Just during our tests, we found that all the board got powered up normally after we replaced the 24V DC power source with a new one. It seems power source's ground problem(but we think the old power source was well grounded).

At present, we are still testing the powering up process and no weird phenomenon has happened yet.

I will update my progress here.

However, thank you very much for your help.

    Best regards!
