LMZ30602 with Artix 7 FPGA

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMZ30602

Hello,

I am considering using a LMZ30602 with an Artix 7 FPGA.  It provides for power sequencing and has the shielded inductor and other qualities I want.  I would be used for a 1V, 1.8V and 3.3V supply (all at less than 2A) converting power from 5 V.

When I run WEBENCH for an Artix 7, the LMZ30602 never is one of the alternatives.  Is there a compatibility issue with the LMZ30602 and the Artix device that prevents WEBENCH from selecting this part?

Thanks for you help

  • Hi Rob,

I believe that the part should be ok for your design. Here is a reference guide for powering up FPGA using TI power management IC.

In the meantime, i will also ask the webench team on this issue.

    Thanks

  • Hi Rob,

The part should come up for the requirements you've listed. (Making sure that the load grouping is still below 2A)

If you especially want modules, on the Loads entry page, on the right hand side there is a button that says "Show More Options". If you hit this you should see a check box you can click for "Prefer Module Solutions".

When I check this and run the design I see the LMZ30602 come up in my design options.

    Best regards,
    Tommy
