Ev 2300 software.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQEVSW, BQSTUDIO

Hy!

I just bought an EV2300. I want to use it to reset chips from laptop batterys. Now , i do not have any software for this. I want to reset for example M37512 from a toshiba battery. Can you help me with software for this chip and please can you teach me how to connect battery to ev2300, how to identify pins from battery to conect with ev2300 pins.

Thank you very much and i'm waiting for an answer!

  • The EV2300 and the corresponding evaluation software is targeted at TI's range of gas gauges only, so support for non-TI chips are outside the scope of this forum, but I will try my best to answer your questions.

Even though the chip you mentioned isn't part of TI's lineup, there is third party software that can use the EV2300 to communicate with your battery. BE2Works is an example of such software; note that I have *not* used this software and because it is a non-TI product I cannot provide help with using it.

The SMBus pins on a battery will usually be right next to each other, and will have a 100k-1M pulldown resistor to ground. You may need to pull another pin (a SYS_PRES/System Present pin) to ground to activate the battery's communication interface.

  • BE2Works it is a software a little bit expensive, at least for me. I just have one battery with this kind of chip, to reset. Is there another software less expensive that i can use? Or do you have a goog reseted bin that i can flash directely? Thaks for your time and interes of helping me!

  • can you take  battery information by ev2300 bq2084 software  ?

you can shipping the PCB to us , and can reset it

  • Hello i bought programmer ev2300 and i dont know how to use this programmer .I am beginner i  am 17 help me

  • Hi Mubin,

The EV2300 isn't a programming device in its own right - it's just an adapter that lets the PC talk to I2C/SMBus/HDQ gas gauges. You'll need software to make use of the adapter (currently, bqSTUDIO is the only currently-supported software but GaugeStudio and bqEVSW may be used for certain older gauges).
