The BQ24266 seems well suited to my application (charging a single Li-ion cell from a 5V/2A adapter). It is standalone, features battery supplement and requires few external components. However, I am not sure it can support my required output current.
My system will draw 1.2A on average with peaks up to 3.5A (for < 3ms). Is the 3A recommended maximum current continuous or peak? (The 3.5A absolute maximum explicitly says continuous).
