LMZ1200X Off State

I'm looking to use one of the LMZ1200X modules and I need to know what happens to the output when the module is disabled. Is it grounded or floating? I need to be able to force a load to 0V, so I'm wondering if I'll need an external load switch with these modules.

Thanks,

Ben

  • Hi Benjamin,

When the module is disabled, the output stop's charging the output capacitors, so in essence the Output capacitors dictate when the voltage will reach 0V.

Under no load condition, the output capacitors will take a while to discharge.

Under load, the output voltage will reach 0V very quickly.

As long as there is some load present, the output will reach 0V very quickly but this is not forced to GND and the output would not float either.

    Thanks,

    Anston
