Programming bq27510-g3 with dfi generated using bq27510-g2

Hi All,

We are currently in the production of the product using the bq27510-g2. Due to stocks availability (supplier has run out of G2), G3 was procured. All the files, dfi, bqfs and dffs were generated using the G2 Fuel Gauge.

We had proposed the use of bqfs using custom USB to I2C kit for the FG programming (data flash and firmware update) however, it takes 1 minute to program a Fuel Gauge.

Can we program G3 without haveing to downgrade G3 firmware to G2?

Can we generate a dfi which is compatible for G2 and G3? If so, how can we do this?

    The bq27510-G3 cannot be programmed with a -G2 DFI file; you will brick your fuel gauge doing so. You can still downgrade to the -G2 firmware, but it will take longer than writing the DFI alone.
