BQ24090

hai!

This is vanaja,I am using BQ24090 (Battery Charger) and  am using circuit as specified in datasheet

1. ISET Resistance is 1k  for 540mA,

2. PRETERM resistance is 2K,

3. ISET2 is connected to VCC,

4. Led's are connected to PG and CHG pins,

5. my battery not having NTC, so TS pin left floating

I have a doubt like when PG and CHG led's are ON and OFF,how to know the current termination or Battery full ,CHG led always ON when it goes low from datasheet when the current termination happends CHD led goed low, please explain about this clearly.

Thanks.

  • Hi Vanaja,

First of all, ISET2 needs to be grounded to use the external ISET setting for charge current and if you don't want to use TS function, you need to connect a 10k resistor from TS to ground. Float TS pin will put the device in TTDM mode and will not only disable TS function, but also disable safety timer and termination.

The /CHG pin will pull low during the first charge cycle (LED on) and will turn off when the current termination happens (if not in TTDM mode).

    Thanks,

    Wenjia
