Dynamic Power Path solution

Hello,

I am looking for a battery charger for a single cell 3.7V li-ion battery that can also supply power to a 3.3V load (500mA) at the same time.  I've looked at the BQ240xx parts, but havent been able to find anything with Vbat at 4.2 and Vload at 3.3.  Input is 5V.  Is there such a thing in the TI portfolio that can do this on one chip?

  • Our power path ICs require that the output voltage be higher than than battery charge voltage because the battery is charged from that output.  The closest fit we have is the bq25010 family, which is a non power path charger with 150mA buck integrated buck converter.

    Depending on your maximum charge current, you could use either bq24072 1.5A linear charger or bq24250 2A switching charger, both with power path, followed by a small, low cost 500mA buck converter like LM3671.

     

  • Try bq25015.  It has a 300mA integrated buck.
