Meaning of On/Off Control in Fusion Digital Power Designer

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCD9244, UCD7242

Hello,

I am configuring UCD9244 + UCD7242.

If I click 'System Dashboard' button on Monitor page, I can see 'On/Off Config' menu.

There are 4 options - Always Converting, CONTROL Pin Olny, OPERATION Only and Both CONTROL Pin & OPERATION.

I think the meaning of 4 options as below.

Always Converting - Immediately power on as programmed sequence right after Vin input.

CONTROL Pin Only - Power on as programmed sequence after Vin input & control pin is asserted. (But, there is no control pin for UCD9244, so I don't know why this option is required.)

OPERATION Only - Power on as programmed sequence after receiving 'ON' command from PMBUS master.

Is my thought right? If it is wrong, let me know the exact meaning.

  • You can find a description of these functions on the VOUT_CONFIG tab of the Configure page in the Fusion Digital Power Designer but your descriptions are correct, see below image.

The PMBus_CNTRL pin (28) is the Control pin.
