TLV70436 R1/R2 value

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI

Could you please let me know R1/R2 value in order to estimate Isink value?

I understand there is no capability for sink. And also only typical value is OK.

  • Keiichi,

I am not quite sure I understand your question - are you looking for the series resistance R1+R2 on the internal feedback network to estimate the current through the feedback network? If so:

R2 is given in the datasheet as 840kohm, which means R1 =  R2*(Vo/Vref-1) = 1.67 Mohm for the 3.6V device. The current through the feedback network would be a typical of 1.4uA, as Ifb = Vref/R2.

It is included in the ground current specification with a typical of 3.2uA and a maximum of 4.5uA (no load).

    Regards,

    David

  • David,

Our customer saids there is "Sink" capability for 8.7uA. They confirmed that 87uA will be NG also.

Even if the process shifts x2 (or 1/2), I can not understand why TLV70436 have much sink current capability.

I would like to confirm, but there is only pspice model, Do you have TINA-TI model?

  • Keiichi,

I would speculate that their output voltage for sinking is low enough that they are sourcing current through other paths than the feedback network. Overall, the device is never meant to sink current and doing so may cause damage to the device. Why are they trying to sink current through the device?

We only have the PSPICE model available.

    Regards,

    David

  • Hi David,

This problem have been resolved. Customer reported that there is at least 10uA sink availability

for TLV70436, but this sink current cause from another devices which input is left floated.

After fixing this the sink current shows as you mentioned.

Sorry for confusing so much, but I appreciate your support.
