Hi.

I have this next issue with the circuit i have developed with gas gauge bq78pl116 and I need some help, as I am not sure what I am doing wrong.

So this happens:

1. I am doing a charging cycle.

2.COV or POV is reached

3.Charging mosfet stops the input

so far so good but... while the pack it`s resting I see that there is a current leackage over the sense resistor of about 250mA

what is causing this?

when resting is done and I can draw or charge the pack the current is back to 0-50mA.

what am I doing wrong?

I must specify that I do not use the pump or balancing right now.

I am trying to make the aux file.

by resting I mean waiting until the POV or COV recovery limit is reached

and to complete this .. After discharging I do not have this issue, until puv or cuv recovery is reached i have 0mA draw from the battery.

I have this issue only after charging.

I have not seen this occur before. Could you provide a log file and maybe I can see something abnormal? It would also be helpful if you could provide a schematic. There must be a leakage path causing the current after the over voltage condition has occurred.

the schematic it`s the same as in datasheet for the eval board.

I do not have right now a log file but I will try to make another one today.

I assume that while recovery is on there is a shorting cicuit(something like pump) and discharge the cell from 4.25V(cov) to 4.2V(cov recovery).

but I am not sure about this.
