Hello


I am using TPS2491DGS for 12V hot swap application.

I am seeing 2V drop between input and output.

It seems like the Gate is not driving higher voltage to the FET.

I have done all the calculation based on the datasheet; however, I am still seeing a delta.

    Is the output load applied while the hotswap is trying to turn on?

    ALso, the resistors used on the PROG pin is a bit low (the ratio is OK but the net values are low). The upper value should be above 47k and the bottom can be set to achieve the > 0.4V threshold.

    Hello Eric,


    Yes. I do have output load when I am turning on the hotswap controller.

    Is there anything that can cause the output voltage to fluctuate.

    I try changing the resistors for prog pin and they make the output voltage change drastically. Output voltage is varying from 2v to 10v, but never goes to 12v.
