About BQ24650 and BQ76920

Dear all!

I have a homework to make a circuit use BQ24650 and BQ76920. BQ24650 is charger and BQ76920 is battery gauge. I have some question:

1. How to BQ24650 dectect the number of cells is connected? And how to adjust voltage charge?

2. In datasheet of BQ76920, something about battery and pack is mentioned. So what is different from GND of battery and PACK-? Can I connect GND of battery in BQ76920 to GND in BQ76920 or I must connect PACK- in BQ76920 to GND in BQ24650

Hi NT35830,

I have more question about bq24650. In figure 1, Voc is 21V, MPPT is 18V, 2-cell.

- But with Voc = 21V, MPPT is 15,12V?

- Refer to section on 12 of datasheet, Vbat = 12,58 V, but this circuit is charger for 2-cells (max 8,4V)?

- And do you have formula about relation between MPPT voltage and MPPSET pin voltage?
