bq34z100 I2C

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ34Z100

Hi,

I am looking to use the bq34z100 in order to monitor the SOC off a 6s LiPo pack. I don't plan to use an EVM because of packaging and weight issues as the entire setup needs to be on board a UAV. I am a little new to I2C communication and as I was going through the datasheet, it mentioned about these two byte sub commands. So let us assume for instance CNTL that has registers at 0x00, 0x01. In order to use the two byte sub command of 0x0000 functionality on it, should I follow this i2c sequence Start, Slave Address,Write,Ack,Command reg, Ack,Subcommand,Ack,Subcommand,Ack, Stop   and then   Start, Ack, Slave address, write, Ack, Command reg, Ack, repeated Start, Ack , slave address, read, ack data from slave...

Thanks,

Krishna
