Inverting buck-boost topology / DCAP2 series

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS54225
Hi Team,

I'd like to ask about TPS54225 (Dcap2 series) .
Our customer are trying to implement  negative voltage in Buck-Boost Topology that uses the Buck converter.
Dcap2 can be a inverting circuit, such as in the following URL?

  • I believe I have done that successfully in the past.  Just make sure to add the capacitor from Vin to the actual ground (normally Vout for the buck configuration) and derate the current by (1-D).

  • Hi John,

    Thank you for your support.
Could you tell me the reference circuit using  DCAP2?
Please tell me the information such as the adoption of Inverting circuit example.

  • I don't think I have any specific documentation for DCAP2 (you are only the 2nd person to ask about it).  I just used the existing EVM and added the additional capacitor from Vin to the new ground. Then connect the input voltage from Vin to GND (was Vout) and the loat from -Vout (was GND) to GND (was Vout).  There is lots of general online documentation:
