I've notice in the bq24115 data sheet that a Rin resistor is required for high power applications, but does not detail on exactly how this resistor should be placed. Only that it should be placed between the input and pgnd pins. Could you please give me more details on where this resistor should be placed.

Typically this is if there is some internal leakage that allows the input to float up in voltage and keep the part from going into sleep mode, when the adapter is removed.

So it would be a pull down resistor that would go from the v-in node (pins 3 and 4) to ground. Or would you place it in series with the existing capacitor that goes from that node to ground?
