BQ27742 B.O.M New SMD Thermistor and Obsolete FET

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ27742EVM

While putting together B.O.M for single cell Lithium Ion battery pack I noticed one part from the BQ27742EVM B.O.M is being phased out.  The UPA2375T1P-E1-A appears to have a LTS (Last Time Shipment) of Dec 12th 2014.  There is a NXP Semiconductors MOSFET N-CH 12V 3.2A 3DFN but I have 2 questions for some tech guru. 1) Think it will suit? 2) Do I need 2 of them in my B.O.M as spec says they're back-to-back?

Also, as battery pack in my case is small, the thermistor appeared huge by comparrison and the manufacturer of the thermistor in the EVM B.O.M has released a surface mount high accuracy part Semitec 103HT 10kOHM +- 2% 3435K +- 1%.  Will a TI tech give an indication of suitability please?
