Maximum current for MC33063A/MC34063A when used as inverting regulator

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MC34063A, MC33063A, LM5118

Hi all!

I was looking for a solution to generate -24V @ 1.5A from positive input supply voltage in the range of 3V-40V and I came across MC33063A/MC34063A.

While looking for this solution I have observed that when many of the buck/boost regulators are used in inverting regulator's topology, like that of LM2596-Adj, their maximum output current decreases as our requirement for higher output voltages appear. I was not able to find this information in MC33063A/MC34063A's datasheet.

So I was wondering if I will be able to get the desired output current i.e. 1.5A with Vout as -24V.

Looking forward to your response. Thanks in advance!
