BQ2050h

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ2050H

Hello,

I am using the BQ2050h as a means to track remaining capacity through a 4Ah Lead-acid battery's charge and discharge cycles.

I am looking to discharge the battery at higherr currents such as 1A and 4A. The microcontroller I utilise is monitoring NACH and NACL to calculate the remaining capacity in the battery. If I require to use CACD contents for my capacity calculations during the discharge phase, do I have to tolerate a loss in calculation resolution due the fact that CACD is only the high byte of the capacity? The use of CACD and NACL will result incorrect values due to the fact CACD may decrease earlier than NACL reduce. If I can have visibility of the factor NAC reduces by as a function of discharge current, I may be able to compensate NAC within the microcontroller code.

I am open to sugestions.
