12V 40AH Battery Charger for use with BQ34Z110 NE

The BQ34Z110 is proposed as the gauge for a 12V 40AH SLA battery system.  What is the recommended charger to accompany the BQ34Z110?  The BQ34Z110EVM shows a connection to the charger, but does not give any details for such.

Or, would the BQ24650 be a better choice for this type of design?

    Leonard,

    Any lead acid charger can be used with the BQ34Z110. If the charge current is <10A and the input voltage is sufficiently high (i.e., >15V), then the BQ24650 could be a good fit. If the solution requires reporting of the battery capacity, then both the BQ24650 and the BQ34Z110 would be needed.
