We have been using UC1844a-ep for a long time for Flyback converter. I saw on TI website that there are new generation of PWM converter, enhance mode. I am not able to really distinguish between new generation controller. I want to know few basic things about advantages/alternatives for the old one.
Many of them are 50Khz and I don't seem to know what is new in them? Also what is CMOS PWM controller? Basically I am looking for a controller which will have same or better performance than UC1844a-ep and it will have some additional facilities such as shutdown facility, Over Voltage Protection, low start up current etc.
Overall is there a guide line how to select a PWM controller with a wide variety of options?
