Dear All,

This is Bhairu from Cardiac Design Lab.

We have two design ALPHA & POC. We have used BQ24192 in both the design. The battery is not getting charged when device is ON, However same is getting charged when device is OFF. We carried out the same experiment with Alpha design & same battery, battery is getting charged even though device is ON or OFF. The Bq24192 schematic and testing results are as below.

Thank you for your patience during the holiday season.

Assuming the schematics are similar, is the POC system load higher than for the ALPHA product? What are the values for REG08 and REG08?

Dear Rachel Moore,

Thank you for your reply. The POC system load is higher than Alpha. The delta between ALPHA & POC design is LCD design. In Alpha design we have used 7" LCD(LMS700KF07) with TPS61176 WLED backlight driver. In POC design we have used 10" LCD(AUO-B101EW05-V1) with TPS61165 LED driver.

The register values for both ALPHA & POC design are same.

SYSTEM Status register REG 08 - A4H

FAULT register REG 09 - 80H

Bhairu,

Even for your ALPHA example above in the table it only show ~80mA current, ICHARGE has a minimum setting of 512mA. Neither platform looks like it's working correctly. Can you get some scope plots of the VBUS, SW, VBAT and SYS? Along with a full register dump?

Thank you for your reply. The above table describes the charging current ~80 mA when battery was full. Please suggest me what could be the issue is?.
