Hi Team,

I’d Iike to ask about TPS40305 protection.
Our customer is going to use TPS40305 in attaced conditions .

I suspect the short-circuit protection or thermal shutdown.
Is there a protection operation EN is Low of TPS40305 ?
Please tell me the cause of the operation, such as the waveform.

Hi John,

Thank you for the reply.
I apologize for any confusion.

Consumer do not have to turn OFF the EN.
But,TPS40305 is temporarily OFF the EN during operation.

It is a waveform with attached operation waveform at that time.
Consumer is looking for a cause to TPS40305 is off the EN.

I was suspicious of thermal shutdown.
But temperature of the package was Tc top=90℃.

So you are saying that the user is not actively controlling EN? The TPS40305 EN is going low on its own, correct?

It could be OCP. It is hiccup mode and you have a very high p-p inductor ripple current.

Is this device will turn OFF the EN at the time of the thermal shutdown?
Customer want to know or even become such a waveform when the thermal shutdown.
