TIDA-00329 Test Report

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ500212AEVM-550, BQ51003

Hi,

I want to know the distance with TX an RX on TIDA-00329 Test Report.

i check the application circuit.

I can not found the Cs,Cd in the circuit.

If we don't use Cs,Cd in the circuit, how many uH with the Coil?

how many distance  can be charging on this application?

  • Eiven,

TIDA-00329 testing was done several ways with multiple RX coils. The results vary with each setup. The Test Report shows testing done with the TDK coil with a standard EVM box (see the bq51003 EVM for the black box example) and the standard bq500212AEVM-550.

Additional testing was done (not not included in the test report) with the Wurth coil and with the TIDA-00334 transmitter. Further testing was done with other TI EVM transmitters and a wide selection of RX coils.

Cs and Cd are not included in this design which makes it non-Qi compatible. It also allows for a smaller solution size for applications not requiring a Qi solution.

The TDK coil (WR222230-26M8-G) is: 26uH (more when placed on the TX pad - different for different pads)

The Wurth coil (760308101303 - can be found on the Wurth home page): 47uH

The distance depends on many factors so you should take the measurements in your system to get the final answer.

    Regards,

    Dick
  • Dear Dick

The small RX coil must have low thickness and small size.
The high inductor will effect the thickness and size.
Do you use the 16uH~18uH RX without the Cs and Cd to test the function?

    thanks.
