bq76pl102 cell voltate measurement error

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ76PL102, BQ78PL116

Hi there guys.

I have this next issue with my bq76pl102.

I have bq78pl116 and one bq76pl102 for a 6s lipo pack.

Today I have changed a damaged cell and the voltage measurement on the 76pl102 is not working properly.

I did all the things I could imagine but with no success:

1.updated the bootloader

2.updated the tmap

3. reupdated all the properties and files (aux chem tmap ppcsv)

4.hardware reset (disconected all the cells in the right order)

5.recalibration of temperature and current.

still nothing

Before changing  the cell measurement was right and accurate. but after the change of the cell in the pack the voltage measurement is not working properly

so I get this values :

on cell 5 : 3.6 instead of 3.8

and on cell 6 3.8 instead of 4.1

yes the cells was unbalanced.

please tell me what to do next?

I would try not to replace the pl102, as i think it is a software problem.

the bq78pl116 works great cell voltage is right.

  • The PL102 may need to be reset. You can force a power-up reset by shorting VLDO to VSS on the PL102. You should then issue a Relearn/Initialize command to force the PL116 to download the cell voltage calibration parameters from the PL102.
  • Now I have the same issue with the bq78pl116.

voltage was fine but now it is offset.

    1st cell 4100 instead of 4140

    2nd cell 4100 instead of 4150

    3rd cell 4180 instead of 4144

    4th cell 4190 instead of 4144

cell 5 and cell 6 is ok.

The workarround you told me earlier wasn`t working for me.

I  had to replace the controllers.

    what should I do?
