LED display error with display button

I am using the BQ76930EVM and currently evaluating the BQ78350 fuel gauge chip using bqstudio. If I hold down the DISPLAY push-button for a time greater than 'LED Hold time', the display no longer works if the display button is pressed again. I need to reset the device to regain the ability to light up the LEDs. Is the a way around this? Or is it possible to leave the LEDs on permantently?

Thanks for the inquiry. Someone will have to look into it, this could take some time.

The LEDs can be configured to be on durig charge. Since the LEDs take significant current, there is not a setting to leave them on during discharge.

Thanks for your prompt reply. It is clear why normally one wouldn't want to leave the LEDs on. I await your response regarding the DISP button problem - for the moment I will forseee a 555 or similar to produce a defined pulse on DISP.

Hello WM5295,

I am having a similar issue with the LED function on the bq78350. The fuel gauge stops responding to the DISP transition and requires a reset to function again. Does TI have a fix for this?
