About feedback resister of TPS63020

Guru 19645 points

When feedback resistance(R1 & R2) is too small, what kind of problem?

For example, customer design by the following spec.

・Vin:5V , Vout:5.5V/1A

・R1:10kΩ , R2:1kΩ

At this time, Vout will be 6.4V.

The cause is that R1/R2 is too small, is it correct?

Best regards,

Satoshi

  • It is recommended to use resistors in the size as mentioned in the D/S. The Network should be in the range of hundreds of kOhms.
I would not per default expect a completely wrong voltage due to the small values.

Do you see any other strange behavior of the output beside the wrong voltage?
Could you please measure your values of the resistors (not the printed values)?
