We are new to this part, we followed the design specs for input voltages from 12V to 24V with the output at 7.55V 4A.
When we try the circuit, we keep getting the output load fluctuating down to just over 6V with large ripple at times with the load current varying from .8A to 2A.
If we increase the load to 2A+ the signal outputs appropriately at 12V, but we can't keep wasting that much power to maintain the voltage.
We tried respecing the design for 12V and 10V only; the output improves, but it is still not holding until 15V.
Do we just have a bad chip or is there some design spec not shown on the on-line design tool?
Attached is a video of the output levels through boot up. We have used a 12V 5A switching laptop supply, purchased overseas, and a 2A variable bench supply for the input sources. This video shows the levels on 1V/division scale; though the video looks like the wave form is broken, that is just a combination of the camera phone and the scan rates.
The only differences to the design circuit are a 1000uF cap added to the output, into a 6A in line diode, then into a 3300uF cap that feeds other switching supplies that function perfectly.
