TPS22968 power sequencing without a GPIO input

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS22968

Hi,

We are looking at designing in the TPS22968 with a dual DC 2 DC circuit as inputs to VIN1 and VIN2. VBIAS will be supplied by the same source as VIN1. In the datasheet for the TPS22968 page 18, figure 35, it shows that you can use the output VOUT1 as the input to ON2 as it's toggle. It is mentioned that ON1,2 cannot be left floating. From the circuit block diagram it looks like VOUT1 is open drain/open source. In the configuration shown in figure 35, does there need to be a resistor to ground at the ON2 input so that it's input is not floating? What value is recommended?

  • Hi Mike,

An external pull down is not needed.  The TPS22968 has a QOD resistance from VOUT to GND when the device is disabled.  This should keep the ON2 from floating when it is connected to VOUT1.
