TPS54232 Datasheet - meaning of Vout vs. Vout(max) and Iout vs. Iout(max)

Hello.

On the page 16 of the datasheet there are equations where the terms VOUT , VOUT(MAX) , IOUT  and IOUT(MAX).

What is the difference between:

1) VOUT , VOUT(MAX) ?

2) IOUT  and IOUT(MAX) ?

Thank you.

  • It is just your maximum output voltage or output current. For Vout, Vout and Vout(max) are probably the same thing as most likely you are designing a fixed output supply. Vin and Iout may vary though. When Vin(max) or Iout(max) is referenced, it means you should use the maximum value not typical.
  • Dear John.
    Thank you.
It seems a bit weired to insert Vout and Vout(max) inside the same equation, while its meanings are equal. But I do not see other interpretation than yours.

The XYZ(max) values are obvious, the other, no.
