None SMBUS controlled TPS544C20

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS544C20

Hi,

I am looking to use the TPS544C20 in a none SMBUS mode, but still want to enable and disable the output independent of Vin. I feel that the dataset is ambiguous in therms of the feasibility of this. Is it correct that I can turn Vout on and off by toggling CNTL? please advice.

  • Yes. By default the CNTL pin can be used as an analog enable pin. It has an internal pull-up, so it will pull high if floated, and a threshold of appx 2.1V max. It is active high - the device will turn ON when CNTL is high, and will turn OFF when CNTL is low.
