BQ103 vs BQ103A

I ahve a customer who has the BQ103 designed into many platforms, and they are having trouble getting it. The can get the BQ103A.

Two questions:

1) What is the difference between the BQ103 and the BQ103A?

2) Can you confirm that both parts do NOT need the Zener diode? (D1 on figure 2 of the data sheet)

Texas Instruments does not sell the BQ103 or BQ103A. we do not have a catalog device that begins with BQ10. please check the full device name.

I guess you mean the difference of BQ24103 and BQ24103A. The answer is in the d/s PG7.

BQ24103A resolved a bug in BQ24103 and thus the zener-diode for BQ24103 SW is not needed for BQ24103A.
