TLV713 / Comparison of using capacitor and without using the capacitor.

Hi all.

TLV713xx has the benefit that it will behave to stable even without an output capacitor.
But I think that the output voltage noise and the transient response become better if we use output capacitor.
In addition, there is no the comparing data in the data sheet of TLV713xx.

Could you give me the reference data that I can compare the characterisics of using capacitor and without using the capacitor?

Hi Sho,

You are correct that the transient response will improve with the use of a capacitor. Figures 14 and 15 demonstrate the transient response with and without an output capacitor.

An output capacitor will have a negligible affect on the LDO internally generated noise.

I understood about the transient response with and without an output capacitor.

There is the data of PSRR and voltage noise for the case of using an output capacitor 1.0uF.
Could you give me the data of this parameter for the case of not using an output capacitor?

Hi Sho-san,

Sorry for the delay, please see the plots below.

As you can see the capacitor has a negligible affect on the noise generated by the LDO. There is a filtering affect for the PSRR for the higher frequencies due to the capacitor.
