Hello,

The BQ34Z100EVM product folder is not clear about which chip is being shipped on the board currently.

The BOM in the EVM User's Guide for the BQ34Z100EVM lists the BQ34100PW-G1 as the IC gas gauge. Does this mean that all EVM's are now shipping with the BQ34Z100-G1 chip on board?

Also I think the BQ34100PW-G1 on the BOM could be small typo? Wouldn't it be BQ34Z100PW-G1if it's the G1 chip?

Ralph,
The EVMs are still being shipped with the bq34z100 device. You can reprogram the EVM to the bw34z100-G1 using bqStudio. You will just need to start bqStudio and select the 0100_0_016_bq34z100G1.bqz file. You will need to page through the warnings and them program the srec into the device. The EVM User's Guide provides instructions on programming an srec. The BOM should read bq34z100PW-G1.

Tom what has changed with the upgraded bw34z100-G1 firmware?

Are there any improvements / fixed issues over the old firmware? I would love to know what they are.

Ryan,

The bq34z100-G1 is released now and documents are available for download. We have corrected the errata items and all know issues to the bq34z1xx devices. I added some other comments to this post.
