BQ24260EVM Board,I2C communication problem

Sir ,we are using the  BQ24260 in a new design.

Now i am using BQ24260EVM board ,with which i am facing some problems on i2c communication with microcontroller. All the jumpers are set defult positions as mentioned in  BQ24260EVM datasheet, and powered up the board through micro USB slot on the board.but whenever I tried to address the device, its not giving acknowledgement. I2C waveforms are correct as we checked it with logic analyzer and oscilloscope.

Can any one please tell me solution.

  • What is the sequence in which you apply power to the bq24260 (either at VIN or VBAT) and attach your SDA/SCL lines? The bq24260 SDA/SCL pins are sensitive to spikes at hot plug. So, I suggest attaching the SDA/SCL first, then applying power to the bq24260 and/or microcontroller.
  • Hi Jeff,
Currently VBAT is not connected to battery.EVM board is powered only through VIN. SDA/SCL lines are connected to microcontroller(no hot plug). But we powerup the microcontroller first and then EVM board, will that make any problem?
