TPS70445 high temperature problem

Hi All,

We are using the dual output regulator TPS70445 in one of our applications and power supplies for this are as below.

1. Input supply : 5V in pints VIN1 and VIN2

2. VOUT1: 3.3 V

3. VOUT2: 1.2 V

It is observed that the temperature of the regulator becomes 70 to 80 deg C once the circuit board is up and running for about 1 to 2 hours. The temperature is measured using IR temperature scanner (non contact type).

Pl let us know if

1. The temperature of 70 to 80 deg C is OK for the regulator to operate safely

2. If not, what are the steps to be taken to reduce this temperature.

Thanks in advance for your time.

Regards,

Jayaram C B
