Active rectifier/ PWM Rectifier and Current Controller Design

Hello,

I am learning to design Active Rectifier to achieve Unity Power Factor.

My specifications are :

Vin = 110V rms       Iin = 4.54 A         Pin = 500W     60Hz

Vo = 400Vdc           Iout = 1.25A        Po = 500W 

By some reference I have calculated my L and C as:

L = 113 mH   C = 870 uF 

I have implemented Closed Loop Current controller ( Inner Current Loop, Outer Voltage Loop). 

I am not getting desired Output. Can someone guide me. I would like to know the

  • Design procedure for L and C. for Active Rectifier.  Also the
  • Transfer function derivation for ACTIVE Rectifier and
  • Design procedure for Controller Controller (inner current and Outer Vtg Loop) .  

I tried P controller for Inner Current loop and PI Controller for outer loop. But the result isn't satisfactory.
